The Red Railways light up the Jungfrau
The Red Railways light up the Jungfrau jan 02, 2012

Gerry Hofstetter creates memorable moments to commemorate the Jungfrau Railway centenary. The light artist, who has already illuminated buildings, monuments, landscapes and mountains throughout the world, performs his magic by temporarily transforming the Jungfrau into a work of art. In the first January week of 2012, Hofstetter and his team set up camp below the summit of the Jungfrau, from where they illuminate the Jungfrau. A Swiss cross, a portrait of Adolf Guyer-Zeller (1839-1899), founder of the Jungfrau Railway, and a picture of a Jungfrau Railway train will be projected on to the north face of the Jungfrau. This light-art projection will herald the centenary celebrations.
