Jelovica - Slovénie - Železniki
Jelovica is a karst plateau in the extreme eastern part of the Julian Alps. It is situated between 900 and 1,600 m a.s.l. and to a great extent overgrown with forests. In the past, the major part of Jelovica has been subjected to afforestation with Spruce, although in some places natural Beech and Silver Fir forests can still be found. Only 10% of the entire surface area is covered by grasslands and pastures. In some pastures, with Goška ravan as the most prominent among them, livestock can still be seen grazing.

Jeziora Weltynskie - Pologne - Gryfino County
The area of Jeziora Weltynskie is under protection of European Natwork Natura 2000 because of species of birds appearing in the site. The refuge is located in West-Pomeranian voivodeship, on the area of 16 square km, it encompasses gryfino and Stare Czarnowo communes. The refuge is a group of lakes laid within fields and Jezioro Weltynskie is the biggest one (360 ha). There are characteristic islands appearing on the lakes. They are overgrown by reed rushes and forests. The vegetable habitats are mostly arable fields, meadows and pastures.

Jezioro Miedwie and surroundings - Pologne - Stargard Szczeciński
Area of the refuge encompasses in its north part a large eutrophic Miedwie lake, as well as a little Zelewko lake located more to the west and a bigger Bedgoszcz lake, the Plonia river and Plonia Canal. It is a valuable bird refuge of European importance. Reservoirs which lie on area of the refuge are surrounded be extensively exploited meadows and carbonate peat bogs in the south-west. This Natura 2000 site can be described in three parts: 1) The coastline with the white cliffs. About 250.000 tourists are visiting the site per year, so one issue is to manage the Natura 2000-site and the turism in a sustainable way. 2) The forest is the most important site for the habitat 9150 in Denmark. Therefore it is an important issue to keep or even increase the area of this habitat. 3) The chalk grassland is the most important site for the habitat 6210 in Denmark, including lots of wild orcids.
